Olaparib Tablets 100 mg · Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories
PARP inhibitors have transformed the treatment landscape for ovarian and other cancers. Until recently, the category was dominated by a single innovator brand, Lynparza, whose patent was nearing expiry in 2023.
With the patent expiration, Dr. Reddy's planned the launch of Ribaxa, its generic Olaparib, with a clear ambition: to make PARPi therapy more accessible and affordable, while reassuring doctors of uncompromised quality backed by Dr. Reddy's legacy.
The Olaparib market was set to become highly cluttered, with multiple generic players launching the same molecule simultaneously. Lynparza already owned the scientific and efficacy-led narrative. New entrants risked becoming indistinguishable “me-too” brands.
The core challenge was to differentiate Ribaxa meaningfully at launch, cut through the competitive clutter, and establish strong recall among oncologists — without repeating scientific claims already owned by the innovator.
“While science explains how a drug works, it does not always explain why access matters.”
The innovator brand had already claimed the scientific territory — mechanism of action, clinical trials, and efficacy data were well known. What was missing from the category was the human cost of inaccessibility — the emotional, psychological, and lifestyle burden faced by patients undergoing long-term cancer treatment.
Affordability is not just a pricing advantage; it is freedom.
Ribaxa — Freedom to Live More
Instead of speaking about the molecule, we chose to speak for the patient. The campaign focused on the emotional liberation that comes with affordable, accessible treatment — allowing patients to continue living fuller lives, pursue everyday joys, and retain dignity beyond their diagnosis.
